Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, started early this year; the first candle was lit, Motzei Shabbos, December 8th, and the Holiday will end a week from Sunday on December 16th. The MK-Canada’s Kosher Certifier, in conjunction with Walmart, wants to help you get the most fun possible out of your holiday.
This year, the Walmart on Jean-Talon in Montreal is going all out to give its Jewish customers a Chanukah treat. Centrally located just off Decarie, between the de Vimy neighbourhood and Cote-St-Luc/Hampstead, Walmart recognizes that the Jewish community of Montreal forms an important part of their customer base. Together with the MK-Canada’s Kosher Certifier, this is Walmart’s way of saying “thank you” for their patronage.
On the first day of Chanuka, this past Sunday, the Walmart store on Jean Talon had a special display table set up at the entrance of the store where members of the MK, as well some Lubavitch representatives handed out information about Chanukah with free Chanukah kits and MK key chains. Rabbi Saul Emanuel, executive director of the MK-Canada’s Kosher Certifier, was present to answer any questions and distribute complimentary MK free key rings. This was very well received by members of the public, who appreciated Walmart’s involvement in the special Chanukah festival.
This event will be replicated once again this coming Thursday, Dec. 13th, as Walmart together with the MK continue to service the community. Come by between 5:00 - 7:00 pm, and you will receive a free Chanukah kit from Chabad-Lubavitch of Montreal, as well as key chains and information about Kosher from the MK.
As a Chanuka gift for their Jewish customers, Walmart is also offering competitive prices on many Chanuka items. These items include Streit’s Potato Pancake Mix, oil, applesauce, onions, potatoes as well as many Chanuka themed items. Menorahs and candles are on special, along with chocolate Chanuka Gelt & dreidel games.
The MK-Canada’s Kosher Certifier, wishes everyone in the community a happy, meaningful Chanukah and looks forward to greeting you personally.
